Epic Games has announced the next Epic Games Store freebie, and it’s none other than Hogwarts Legacy. The 2023 game from Avalanche Software was a huge hit, selling more than 30 million copies and finishing the year as the No. 1 best-selling game in the US, even beating Call of Duty.

Hogwarts Legacy was a smash hit, but the same could not be said for the following Harry Potter game, Quidditch Champions, which hasn’t found much of an audience. A Hogwarts Legacy sequel is now on the way, joining the multiple upcoming Harry Potter projects at Warner Bros., including a new live-action series.
Warner Bros., including the Harry Potter series its future games, could soon be owned by a new company if the company’s sale to Netflix or Paramount goes through. Netflix recently said it didn’t factor gaming in very much to its bid for Warner Bros. Discovery.
