The Game Awards 2025 Shows Off New Details For Saros

Fans anticipating the newest third-person bullet hell, Saros, were treated to some new details, including some of the game’s narrative and a few more gameplay highlights.
Announced during The Game Awards 2025, Rahul Kohli took to the stage to talk a bit about his starring role in the spiritual successor to Returnal. Seemingly set on an alien world where the Sun has died and given way to horrible creatures, Kohli plays Arjun Devraj, a Soltari enforcer on the shape-shifting world of Carcosa.
Saros features the same nail-biting gameplay as Returnal but with some interesting new mechanics. The “Second Chance” feature allows players to respawn immediately upon their first death, keeping the action flowing and letting them jump right back before needing to start from scratch. Much like its spritual predecessor, players will need to jump, dodge and parry a staggering amount of possible projectiles in order to survive and fight further.
Every run changes the world in true roguelike fashion, and while players will be able to keep certain resources between runs, the corrupting influence of the Eclipse will constantly change the shapeshifting world—opening new paths and awakening a madness within everyone and everything. The trailer gave players a sneak peak of this as both Kohli’s Arjun Devraj and his companions seem on the verge of madness, as he fights between the corrupted world and his own memories.
Saros is set to launch on April 30th, 2026, exclusivley for PlayStation 5. Players can pre-order the game on the official PlayStation website.
