The body remains at the scene of the fatal accident

One man died and another man was seriously injured when a wall collapsed on a farm in West Cork this afternoon.
The fatal accident occurred on a farm near Bandon shortly after 4pm – Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene.
A man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene. His body remains at the farm, and Gardaí are preserving the area of the accident as the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) are due to attend the scene. Another man suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the HSA confirmed they are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services responded to a fatal workplace accident at a premises near Bandon, Co. Cork shortly after 4:00pm on Thursday, 11th December 2025.
“A male in his 50s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body remains at the scene. Another male has been brought to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and are due to attend the scene, which remains preserved.”
