Conor McGregor to marry long-term lover Dee Devlin in The Vatican today

Conor McGregor will tie the knot with his long-term partner, Dee Devlin, in The Vatican today.
The Irish Independent has revealed that the pair will marry in a “historic church” called Chiesa di Santo Stefano Degli Abissini, which is situated behind the Basilica of St Peter on the way to the Vatican Gardens.
Vatican insiders confirmed to the newspaper that the marriage will be taking place last night, but earlier this week, the senior spokesperson for the City, Matteo Bruni, said he was not aware of the wedding arrangements.
Vatican figures have allegedly expressed concerns privately regarding the appropriateness of a man like McGregor, who has been accused of multiple violent encounters, being allowed to use a church there.

McGregor has been accused of rape and assault, and has also admitted to cheating on his partner Dee.
Late last year, he said he “never should have stepped out on the woman I love.”
In order to book a Vatican wedding venue, two years of planning, a small number of guests, rigid Vatican protocol, and a lot of documentation are required.
One piece of documentation that is requested is the “Nulla Osta,” which is an official Italian document that states there is no reason or legal objection to the couple getting married.
The church Conor and Dee are set to marry in is often referred to as the oldest surviving church in the Vatican as it was not affected by the 1505 destruction of the old St Peter’s Basilica.
Nowadays, it is rarely used, unless for weddings.

Conor McGregor has recently expressed his religious beliefs stating that “God came to me” after he underwent a trauma treatment.
The MMA fighter posted on X to say, “God, I am yours!! I live my life per your word and nothing more.”
The trauma treatment he underwent at the time was an ibogaine treatment, which involves a plant-based psychoactive compound.
He described it as “incredible, intense, and absolutely eye-opening.”
