Cold front to bring scattered showers Sunday morning

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – We’ve got eyes on a strong cold front set to arrive in the Brazos Valley Sunday morning, kickstarting another round of showers and sending a blast of cold air down to our neck of the woods.

Here’s how we get there: The high pressure that has been dominating our weather pattern this week will start to shift over the Gulf coast Thursday. This will help open the door for onshore flow to usher back in – which will serve as fuel for our cold front to latch onto as it moves through Saturday night.

Isolated to scattered showers possible(KBTX)

The Brazos Valley can expect to feel impacts as we start the day on Sunday…just in time for the College Station Marathon. Breezy winds will kickup overnight Saturday and continue to gust upwards of 35 mph through the day on Sunday. A dip in temperatures will follow suit. In fact, we actually expect to record our high temperature of 60° around sunrise, before spending the rest of the day in the 50s. As far as rain is concerned, light to moderate showers are anticipated throughout the morning hours before the boundary exits the region by the afternoon. Not ideal running conditions, but not a complete washout either!

That said, if you are a participant in the College Station Marathon, you will want to bundle up and make sure to grab a rain jacket just in case you encounter some sprinkles along the way!
