Conor McGregor is due to marry his long-standing fiancée Dee Devlin at the Vatican today. The nuptials between the 37 year old mixed martial arts fighter and Ms Devlin, 38, with whom he shares four children, are set to take place in the historic Chiesa di Santo Stefano Degli Abissini, nestled behind the Basilica of St Peter en route to the Vatican Gardens.
According to the Irish Independent, insiders at the Vatican have confirmed that the Church of St Stephen of the Abyssinians has been reserved for the private ceremony. Weddings at the Vatican are a rarity, necessitating very specific conditions and special arrangements with authorities.
The newspaper reveals that high-ranking Vatican officials have voiced concerns over the suitability of allowing McGregor to use the church for his wedding. This follows a civil trial last year in Dublin’s High Court where a jury found him guilty of raping a woman at a Dublin hotel in 2018, reports the Mirror.
McGregor strenuously denied the allegations, maintaining that he had consensual sex with Nikita Hand, but the jury ruled in her favour. Ms Hand was awarded nearly 250,000 euros (£214,994) in damages, and McGregor was also ordered to pay approximately 1.3 million euros (£1.1 million) in legal fees.

Earlier this month, the Supreme Court dismissed McGregor’s appeal against the verdict, concluding that he had received a fair trial and denying any further appeals. Following the verdict, Dee demonstrated her unwavering support for McGregor by holding his hand as they exited the court and faced the global press.
In a statement released through her legal representatives, Coleman Legal, Ms Hand declared: “The public and private roads that I and my loved ones have travelled have been long and painful. Today marks not a victory for me but for all of those who have been treated as I have. You are never alone on your journey, if you choose not to be. Help and support is there.”
Conor’s fiancée Dee has remained loyal to the multi-millionaire throughout their 15-year relationship, from his meteoric rise to fame through to his dramatic downfall.
Posting alongside a family photograph, she declared on social media: “My man and I have created a beautiful life together. I love him I trust him and I BELIEVE HIM!”.

“Our four beautiful children whose smiling faces and happy hearts are testimony to the man he is and who we are! No one is entitled to comment on our relationship- we trust one another and love one another. Nothing or nobody will change that. Our family stands strong!”.
After the court proceedings concluded, Conor was photographed embracing an unidentified woman.
The ex-UFC double champion was captured on camera having a blast at a Florida coastline, where he was seen riding jet skis before getting cosy with a mysterious brunette – who wasn’t his longtime girlfriend Dee Devlin.
Conor popped the question to Dee in 2025 just before her 33rd birthday. “What a birthday, my future wife!” Conor wrote in his Instagram caption.
The couple initially crossed paths at a Dublin nightclub back in 2008, where Dee was employed at the time. Conor has consistently acknowledged that Dee Devlin was his rock when he had nothing, assisting with his travel and financial management before he rose to fame as a UFC star.
Their firstborn, Conor Jack McGregor Jr. , arrived in May 2017.
Their daughter, Croía, was born in January 2019. In May 2021, they welcomed their second son, Rían, and their youngest son, Mack, was born in November 2023.
