Plymouth police respond to report of kidnapped federal agent

Plymouth police are providing more information about a report of a kidnapped federal agent on Wednesday afternoon.
According to a police report, at around 2:50 p.m., a Plymouth police officer received a report that a Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agent had been kidnapped and was in a suspect’s car that was fleeing and being actively pursued near Highway 169 and 42nd Avenue.
Around the same time, dispatch also received a call from the driver of the fleeing vehicle, who said they were driving to the Plymouth Police Department, the police report stated.
The car ultimately drove to the New Hope Police Department, the report added, where the agent was taken into safety.
A person inside the vehicle initially ran away from police, but was eventually found. It’s unclear if they were taken into custody.
At the police department, a woman in distress was also found in the car.
The police report stated that the officer then left, adding that they only handle state and local laws.
In a press release from Plymouth, the city states that any questions about the incident should be directed to an FBI public affairs officer.
