UFC star Conor McGregor has finally married long-time partner Dee Devlin in a top-secret ceremony in the Vatican City.
The couple tied the knot inside the breathtaking Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini on Friday afternoon. McGregor’s security ensured members of the public were kept away with locals banned from taking photos as Dee arrived. Reports claimed the church was decked out with thousands of white roses while the couple entered through an arch. A four-piece string quartet performed while a 10-piece choir were also part of the intimate ceremony.
Vatican weddings are rare and are often reserved for specific circumstances and require special coordination with authorities. Senior Vatican figures are believed to have expressed their concern over making the church available to the former dual-weight UFC champion.
Nevertheless, after years of on-and-off planning, the couple have finally tied the knot – nearly two decades on from when they first met. The pair first crossed paths back in 2008 after meeting in a Dublin nightclub – where Dee worked at the time. At the time, McGregor was an aspiring mixed martial artists, and Devlin has since supported her partner every step of the way.

Last year, a jury in a civil trial in Dublin’s High Court found McGregor had assaulted a woman at a hotel in Dublin 2018. The Irish fighter denied the claim and was adamant that he had consensual sex with Nikita Hand, but the jury decided in her favour.
McGregor was forced to pay over £200,000 in damages and roughly 1.3 million euros (£1.1 million) in legal costs. Most recently, the Dublin native had an appeal against the aforementioned ruling rejected by the Supreme Court, as they found that he had a a fair hearing and ultimately refused any further appeal.
Just months after the trial, McGregor was pictured kissing a mystery woman on a Florida beach. The Irishman was spotted enjoying a jet ski ride before he was seen cuddling up to a brunette who was not his fiancee on a Fort Lauderdale beach. According to The Sun, McGregor appeared to be enjoying the attention from female beachgoers.
Devlin was quick to speak out following the incident by sharing a post from a fan account on Instagram which read: “Happy Birthday to the person who always keeps Dee entertained and makes her smile.” She followed this up with a series of photos featuring herself and McGregor.

The couple have been inseparable since their first ever meeting. In a candid chat with RTE in 2017, the UFC superstar was quizzed about tying the knot with Devlin, to which he responded: “We just dropped a bloody bomb on a christening for the young boy. Let me chill for a minute, give me time. I’m still only 29.”
Last year, he revealed his plans to marry Devlin soon. Speaking to the Irish Mirror, he expressed his readiness to marry his long-time partner: “My lady is my long-time lady,” he said. “We are set to get married soon, we are just trying to find a location. I am ready to go; we are just trying to get a location.”
The pair have four children together. Their first child, Conor Jack McGregor Jr., was born in May 2017. Their daughter, Croia, was born in January 2019. In May 2021, they welcomed their second son, Rían and youngest son, Mack, was born in November 2023.
