An exciting matchup between two of the best in the country is set for Friday, as the Texas Longhorns host the Indiana Hoosiers in the third round of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Tournament.
The Longhorns were one of the best teams in one of the country’s toughest conferences this season. In the SEC, which has teams like Texas A&M, Tennessee and Kentucky, Texas managed to finish third in the conference, two games back of the undefeated Wildcats. The Longhorns made it to the conference title game, losing to Kentucky once again.
Yet, with home-court advantage in their regional, the Longhorns are looking like a team that can make a deep run in the national tournament. After taking care of Florida A&M and Penn State in straight sets, Texas is one win away from advancing to the Elite Eight for the first time since winning it all in 2023.
They get set to take on another Big Ten team hungry for an upset. Indiana entered the big dance after finishing fifth in the conference, a few games back of top-seeded Nebraska. Like Texas, the Hoosiers have yet to lose a set in the tournament, beating Toledo and Colorado in the minimum last weekend.
