Strictly Come Dancing viewers have expressed concern for Karen Carney ahead of her Samba performance this weekend.
The former footballer has progressed well through the BBC competition, consistently impressing judges Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood with her performances. Last week, she and professional partner Carlos Gu achieved a flawless score of 40 for their Couple’s Choice routine to Lady Gaga’s 2011 hit, Born This Way.
However, supporters fear she may struggle to replicate that success with her Samba to The Rhythm Of Life from Sweet Charity, a notoriously challenging dance, reports Coventry Live.
“I’m actually very worried for Karen with the Samba,” one Strictly fan posted on Reddit. “This reminds me of Vicky Pattison getting the Jive and getting booted off despite scoring 39 the previous week and becoming a fan favourite.”

Another viewer commented: “Karen, Samba, I worry for but I think she and Carlos can pull it off, hopefully she does enough to not land in the dance-off!!”
Some have speculated that Karen might find herself in the bottom two alongside Balvinder Sopal, who has already navigated multiple dance-offs.
“Low-key I think Bal v Karen: Karen eliminated…” one person suggested.

However, others remain confident that Karen will rise to the occasion.
The celebrity posted a video on Instagram of her and Carlos rehearsing their steps whilst donning glittery blindfolds, telling her followers: “Hello batcha. I am ready to learn and not fake it this week. Samba time!”
Her post was met with a flurry of supportive comments, with many assuring her she would “smash it” and looked “awesome”.

“You can smash it Kaz, full out Samba mode! Rooting for you,” one fan commented.
“You got this Karen,” another supporter chimed in, while one enthusiast encouraged: “Vote as many times as you can this week guys. Need a Lioness in the final.”
“Really tough one this week, we all have to vote as much as possible,” a viewer noted. “Need a strong female winner this year.”
