Luke Littler admits he’ll settle for ruling the Palace after his pal Angry Ginge was crowned King of the Jungle.

The Nuke was amongst the first with social-media congratulations after his buddy won the popular TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Ginge, real name Morgan Birtwhistle, has been at the Ally Pally supporting Littler in the past and could return to see the World No.1 go back-to-back in the big one.

But the teenage icon of the oche won’t be heading in the other direction and into the Australian jungle to try to emulate his good friend having been turned off by the trials.

Littler said: “No, I actually wouldn’t. No. I said I would for the right money, but I’ve been watching it now, and no. I just couldn’t. No way. Being like, what is it, 23 hours away on the flight, away from home, eating that stuff. Nah. Not good. Not good.

“I don’t think I could actually do it, especially the first two trials, especially what Aitch had to do. I said to [girlfriend] Faith, I’m not doing it ever. No way. There’s no way.”

Littler begins his bid for glory on Thursday night when he goes in against Darius Labanauskas and he’s the centre of attention.

Gary Anderson is the last player to go back-to-back with his wins in 2015 and 2016, but the Warrington wonder is fired-up to end the decade-long drought for defending champs.

Littler knows he’s under scrutiny and spotlight, but said: “Yeah, everyone’s going to talk about me and obviously if I’m up for it. If I am up for the task, I’ve proved so many people wrong over the past two years, well as soon as I started on the Tour. It’s what I’m here to do, I’m here to win titles.

“Darts has evolved. Everyone’s getting better, people are coming through the ranks and it’s not easy to win back-to-back, it’s not easy to win these titles.

“Obviously it’s not happened for 10 years, so that’s all I am focused about. Everyone’s probably thinking about the million pound, but now I know that the last time someone went back-to-back was 10 years ago, that makes me even more up for it.

“I think the Grand Slam win helped me, knowing that I could go back somewhere and win it again. So, hopefully, it’s the same story at Ally Pally.”
