Home Alone is a film that is dear to many people’s hearts at Christmas, and even star Macaulay Culkin’s family like rewatching it.
However, he recently revealed that his two children, who are three and four, have no idea he’s in it.
He made the revelation when chatting with Kevin McCarthy for his On Film…With Kevin McCarthy podcast and explained that even seeing old family photos hasn’t helped his eldest figure it out.

Macaulay explained: ‘They have no idea it’s me. They have no idea it’s me. They they watch Home Alone. They go, “That’s Kevin”.
‘Two days ago, my my oldest wanted to see pictures of me and my siblings and I pulled out like an old family photo, and he looks directly at me and goes, “That kid looks like Kevin. Who’s that?”
‘I said, “That’s me”, and kind of just waiting for the other shoe to drop. He’s like, “Well, anyway, okay, cool”. Like, you know, gotta keep up the illusion for as long as Santa Claus.

‘It’s really great that I have some of these things that I can show my kids and that kind of live on, that’s really what’s the most meaningful thing that they get to watch some of these things. ‘
‘I can’t wait till they get a little older they can start watching, you know, the Uncle Bucks, even, and stuff like that.’
‘My oldest, he thinks that he is Kevin. He thinks that he’s Kevin, which is kind of a testament to… I think a lot of kids felt that way.
‘I love watching it through their eyes and watching them. And listen, at some point it’s gonna happen. They’re gonna be watching it, and then just gonna turn and go, “Hey, wait a second.”
‘[Or], I know some kid at recess is probably gonna spoil it, but, it’s gonna dawn on them all of a sudden. And then it’s gonna be like, ‘Uh huh. Yeah, it’s been me. It’s been me all along.’
