Andrew Pierce is leaving Good Morning Britain
He wrote on X: “Not a suggestion. It’s a fact, next week sadly is my last on @gmb, but viewers can tune in to see me presenting on @GBNEWS from 9.30am Monday to Thursday.”
Straight-talking Andrew regularly appeared on the programme to analyse and comment on the biggest stories of the day, alongside his political sparring partner Kevin Maguire.
Despite being at opposite ends of the political spectrum, the pair clashed in a respectful way and maintained a firm friendship.
There was a big clue yesterday that Andrew’s time on the show was coming to an end as the duo reflected on their time behind the studio desk.

When host Susanna Reid said they’d been there since the beginning, Andrew responded: “Not for much longer, sadly.”
Many of his followers wished him well, with one writing: “Well Mr Pierce even though I don’t agree with anything you say I do appreciate your different opinions, And want to wish you all the best.”
Another said: “I don’t know a lot about politics but I always thought the pairing of you and Kevin Maguire was entertaining. good luck in your next role.”
A third posted: “Will miss you Andrew on GMB ,loved the ‘banter’ between you and Kevin. Good luck on GB News.”
Andrew’s time on the show hasn’t been without its controversy.
In 2022 his comments about illegal immigration sparked 71 complaints to Ofcom.
Paraphrasing former Home Secretary Suella Braverman’s remarks about boat crossings and British borders being “under invasion”, Andrew said: “She said we’re going to get to grips with these wretched people, crossing the channel – if they’re illegal migrants – pouring across the channel.
“She talked the talk the country wants to here. A lot of people are fed up to the back teeth with it. Let’s hope Rishi Sunak lets her do it.”
That same year he wrote a column for the Daily Mail lambasting ITV News’ political editor Robert Peston’s “tedious and pompous indignation” over tweets he made about the NI Protocol, branding him “nakedly partisan”.
The Protocol is a complex part of the UK’s Brexit withdrawal agreement that prevents a “hard border” with Ireland – a key element of the Good Friday Agreement that brought peace to the region.
