Texas interviews former Florida RB coach Jabbar Juluke

Sarkisian dismissed Scott on Tuesday, less than one year after hiring the former West Virginia assistant to replace Tashard Choice, who departed the Forty Acres to become the running backs coach for the Detroit Lions.
Juluke quickly emerged as a target of interest, especially with new Florida head coach Jon Sumrall reportedly making the decision not to retain Juluke, a New Orleans native who had worked with Billy Napier since joining him at Louisiana in 2018.
Previously, Juluke had spent a year at Texas Tech, a year at LSU, and three years at Louisiana Tech after leaving the high school ranks in the Boot, including two successful stints at powerhouse Edna Karr.
The recruiting ties to Louisiana make Juluke an appealing target for the Longhorns in combination with his proven recruiting ability — he recruited running back Trevor Ettienne out of his home state, but also served as a secondary recruiter for quarterback DJ Lagway and helped land Texas safety Grant Delpit during his season with the Tigers.
Notably, Juluke also recruited star Gators running back Jadan Baugh out of Georgia and coached the former consensus four-star prospect to a 1,000-yard season in 2025 — given the need the Longhorns have at the position, that tie to Baugh makes Juluke significantly more appealing as a coaching candidate.
