Ruth Wilson’s “gripping” British thriller from Slow Horses boss confirms return with “twisted mystery”

Ruth Wilson’s thriller series Down Cemetery Road has been renewed for a second season. The British show debuted on Apple TV back in October, and follows a woman and an investigator who team up to look into an explosion in an Oxford suburb.
Based on the novel by Slow Horses author Mick Herron, the series wrapped up its debut run earlier this week, and hot off the heels of this it has been confirmed that it will be back for more.
Both Wilson and co-star Emma Thompson will return as Sarah Trafford and Zoë Boehm, respectively, as they chase down “another twisted mystery”.
“After a woman falls in front of a train Zoë is called in to investigate, but this seemingly simple case soon upends her life as she and Sarah find themselves navigating the glamorous but ruthless world of black market antiquities,” the synopsis teases.
“Matters take a deadly turn when they stumble into the path of a brutal serial killer who will stop at nothing to cover up his crimes.”

Thompson said she was “so thrilled” about the renewal, praising the team including writer and Slow Horses screenwriter Morwenna Banks, who is back to script once again.
She also praised the “indomitable” Wilson, who is “the best and most brilliant co-star any aging Dame could desire, is frankly far more than I feel I deserve”.
“Zoë Boehm is a punkishly delicious avatar and I can’t wait to pull on her knock-off Doc Martens again,” the star continued. “Thanks to everyone who watched! We are go for the next one and it’s all down to you.”
