Timothee Chalamet is opening up about his dedication to his craft while promoting his new A24 film Marty Supreme.

“This is probably my best performance,” the 29-year-old actor told journalist Margaret Gardiner during an interview. “It’s been like seven, eight years that I’ve been handing in really, really committed, top-of-the-line performances. Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie and inspired by the life of legendary table tennis champion Marty Reisman, has already made a strong impression with awards voters. The film received three Golden Globe nominations: Best Musical or Comedy Film, Best Screenplay, and Best Actor for Timothee.

Last year at the SAG Awards, Timothee picked up Best Actor for A Complete Unknown.

“I know we’re in a subjective business, but the truth is, I’m really in pursuit of greatness,” Timothee said during his acceptance speech. “I know people don’t usually talk like that, but I want to be one of the greats. I’m inspired by the greats. I’m inspired by the greats here tonight.”

“I’m as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando, and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan, Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there,” he continued. “So I’m deeply grateful. This doesn’t signify that, but it’s a little more fuel. it’s a little more ammo to keep going.”

This past Monday, Timothee and girlfriend Kylie Jenner made headlines when the pair turned heads at the Los Angeles premiere of Marty Supreme. The couple wore matching orange looks from Chrome Hearts.
