Blue Bloods’ Bridget Moynahan Directs Boston Blue Episode With DUI Arrest

Blue Bloods‘ Bridget Moynahan came back to Boston Blue to direct an episode where Donnie Wahlberg‘s onscreen son makes a DUI arrest.
In Us Weekly‘s exclusive clip from the Friday, December 12, episode of the hit CBS series, Jonah (Marcus Scribner) and Sean (Mika Amonsen) are on shift when they notice an unruly driver. They arrest the man — who is evidently drunk — but realize he is a member of the FDNY.
According to the official synopsis, Friday’s episode follows Danny (Wahlberg) and Lena (Sonequa Martin-Green) who “investigate a robbery that becomes deeply personal as it pushes Lena to bend boundaries with a risky plan” while Sean and Jonah “face firefighter tensions.” Sarah (Maggie Lawson), meanwhile, “clashes with her boyfriend Seth over family discipline.
The episode is directed by Moynahan, 54, who Blue Bloods fans know as Erin Reagan. Wahlberg, 56, and Moynahan originally played siblings on Blue Bloods, which aired on CBS from 2010 to 2024. The police procedural got Us invested in New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and his children: Danny, Erin and Jamie (Will Estes).
After nearly 15 years on the air, viewers were shocked when the show ended. This came after Wahlberg exclusively told Us that he hoped to see Blue Bloods achieve the same level of success as Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
“I mean, Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay have been going for, gosh, so many years, and we hope to last as long as they have,” he shared in April 2023. “One of the things I’ve done is I try to just stay very present in each episode and take each script that comes my way and say, ‘OK, what’s gonna happen now? You know, what am I doing this week?’ And kind of find the journey in that particular episode and not get caught up in what’s gonna happen next year, what’s gonna happen in two years.”
Wahlberg joked at the time that he wasn’t opposed to the idea of a Blue Bloods spinoff, joking, “Danny and Erin become private investigators and move to Hawaii, but that was too close to [Selleck’s iconic 1980s series] Magnum, P.I., so we didn’t want to do that one.”
The actor got his wish with Boston Blue, which expanded the Blue Bloods universe.
