Blackhawks’ Bedard sustains apparent injury in dying seconds of loss to Blues

Chicago Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard appeared to sustain an upper-body in the final moments of his team’s 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Friday night.
The incident occurred with 0.8 seconds remaining in the third period with the Blackhawks trying to score the equalizer, when Bedard got tangled up with Blues captain Brayden Schenn.
Bedard went down in pain and went to his team’s dressing room clutching his shoulder as the period ended.
Head coach Jeff Blashill told reporters after the game that the play was a “freak accident” and that Bedard won’t be available to the team for Saturday’s game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Blashill added that he is expecting another update about Bedard’s condition on Monday.
