‘Amazing chance’ – Adams pleased to see Saints winning again in Championship

FORMER Saints forward Che Adams admitted he is pleased to see his old side rediscovering their feet in the Championship following recent wins.
Adams, who left the club in 2024 to join Torino on a free transfer, revealed he is still in contact with some of his ex-teammates and is pleased when he sees Saints pick up wins.

The Scotland international departed after helping the club return to the Premier League, and he still holds those Wembley memories close to his heart.
Adams believes there is no reason why Saints cannot earn promotion again, and feels their recent uptick in form can help kickstart their campaign after a tough start.
“It was amazing. They are amazing memories, and ones that I will cherish for the rest of my life. To bring Southampton back up to the Premier League was special,” he told BBC Radio Solent.

“It was really tough to leave, to be honest. I had amazing years there and built great relationships with people on and off the pitch.
“It goes a lot deeper than football. All the kitchen staff who work there, the people that you see on reception – it was really a family club.
“I was happy to be a part of that family, to be honest. It takes a lot of people pulling in the right direction [to win promotion]. It takes a lot of courage

“I still speak to a few of the boys. I know that the season has been quite difficult and unsteady, but they are picking up a lot of wins and points now.
“I’m happy to see when it flashes up and see when old friends score goals. It’s really good. They have amazing quality in the squad and great depth.”
He added “They seem to look a bit more settled now. It’s exciting times. Picking up wins is massive in that league. If you can get one or two, you can go on a roll.
“That’s what we did under Russell Martin when he was in charge. This is an amazing chance for them to kick-start their season.”
