CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Abraham Quintanilla Jr., the father of late Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla, has died, according to a statement shared by his family on social media.
His son, Abraham Quintanilla III, posted on Instagram that his father passed away, writing that it was “with a heavy heart” he was sharing the news. An official cause of death has not been released.

Quintanilla Jr. was a central figure in Selena’s life and career, serving as her manager and helping guide the rise of Selena y Los Dinos from local performances to international success. He later became a prominent advocate for preserving Selena’s legacy following her death in 1995.
