Firefighters battle Addenbrookes car park blaze as multiple vehicles alight

A blaze in the car park at Addenbrooke’s Hospital is ongoing tonight (Saturday) with emergency services on the scene.
The incident was reported by Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service shortly after 4pm. Multiple vehicles are alight, with more than 30 firefighters on the scene of the fire on the second floor of car park one.
People have been advised to avoid the area, with road closures in place. There are not thought to be any injuries.
Cambs Fire and Rescue said: “We are currently responding to a fire involving multiple vehicles on the second floor of car park one at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. More than 30 firefighters are at the scene, including from neighbouring fire and rescue services, and other specialist vehicles are in attendance.
“Crews are working hard to contain the fire and stop it from spreading. Please avoid the area as we deal with this incident and find alternative routes.
“There are not thought to be any injuries at this time.”
Cambridgeshire Police said: “Due to a Fire in the vicinity/surrounding Addenbrookes Hospital Carpark one, access is currently limited/restricted. The following road closures are in place Robinson Way, Puddicombe Way, Adrian Way, Richard Howe Way. Please avoid the area if at all possible.”
