Oregon men’s basketball starter expected to be out against UC Davis

EUGENE — Oregon will likely be without at least starter against UC Davis.

Forward Devon Pryor (groin) is not expected to play in Saturday’s game (8 p.m., Big Ten Network) after a setback.

“He didn’t respond well to treatment on his groin and hasn’t practiced,” Altman said. “I don’t think he’ll be available Saturday.”

Pryor was injured in the first half against Creighton on Nov. 27, but returned to the starting lineup against USC and UCLA. He is averaging 4.3 points and 3.4 rebounds in 20.8 minutes.

Altman was more optimistic about the return of Kwame Evans Jr., who missed the loss at UCLA due to illness.

Evans is “not totally” recovered and has not practiced yet this week, Altman said, though that could change before Saturday’s game.

“He went through some shots (Wednesday),” Altman said before Thursday’s practice. “Hopefully today or tomorrow we’ll get a full practice out of him.”
