Active shooter at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island

At least two people have been killed in a shooting at Brown University in Rhode Island, USA, as authorities respond to reports of an active shooter on campus.
It was initially believed that a suspect had been taken into custody, but it has since been confirmed that police are still searching for suspects.
President Donald Trump said the FBI was on the scene and blessed the victims.
“I have been briefed on the shooting that took place at Brown University in Rhode Island,” President Trump said on Truth Social.
Providence Mayor Brett Smiley said two people were killed and eight others were critically injured in the shooting.
Brown University said at 10am that the situated remained ongoing and urged people on campus to shelter in place.
The university in a post on X said the incident had occurred at its Barus & Holley engineering building.
Governor of Rhode Island Dan McKee said the state’s police and emergency management agency were working closely with local authorities.
“Please stay clear of the area and monitor official channels for updates,” Mr McKee wrote in a post on X.
“Praying for our community.”
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and other US federal officials were on the scene, Attorney General Pam Bondi said on X.
