Hawaii men’s basketball coach Eran Ganot has watched this team start 9-2 this season against a favorable schedule.

Harry Rouhliadeff produced 16 points and five other Hawaii basketball players scored in double figures in a 98-46 rout of Hawaii Hilo tonight in Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

A crowd of 1,432 saw the Rainbow Warriors improve to 9-2. The winless Vulcans lost their seventh in a row, although the outcome does not count toward their Division II record.

The ’Bows dominated from near (40 paint points, including 14-for-18 on layups) and far (season-high 13 made 3s). Rouhliadeff grabbed nine rebounds and, on high-low action, added five assists. The ’Bows assisted on 25 of their 35 baskets. The ’Bows committed only six turnovers. The Vulcans had the lowest output for a UH opponent this season.

Once again, the ’Bows relied on reserve power to forge a 48-24 lead at the intermission.

Isaac Finlinson came off the bench to score 11 points and Gytis Nemeiksa contributed seven for the ’Bows in the first half. The ’Bows’ bench outscored the Vulcans’ backups 18-8.

Hunter Erickson swished three of the ’Bows’ nine 3-point shots in the first 20 minutes. The ’Bows were 9-for-22 from behind the arc; the Vulcans missed their five first-half 3s.

Don’t miss out on what’s happening!

The ’Bows play host to UTEP on Saturday in their final game of this calendar year. After an 18-day hiatus, the ’Bows play Riverside on Jan. 1.
