• Thousands of households have been issued an urgent safety warning concerning certain models of integrated heat pump tumble dryers. Owners have been told to stop using these appliances immediately due to a risk of fire.

• Approximately 85,000 tumble dryers require an essential safety check and subsequent repair to rectify the issue. The danger stems from a possible internal short circuit that could cause the machine to ignite during ordinary use.

• A wide range of popular household brands are included in this safety notice, such as Candy, Hoover and Baumatic. Consumers should check their model and serial numbers online to determine if their specific appliance is one of those affected.

• If your machine is one of the listed models, you must contact the manufacturer straight away to request a free in-home modification to rectify the issue. It is also highly recommended that you unplug the tumble dryer if the power socket is easily accessible to ensure safety.
