Mike Vrabel comments on if Will Campbell injury is worse than expected

New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel refused to delve deeply into the current health status of rookie left tackle Will Campbell, who went down with a sprained MCL in the team’s Week 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
There have been concerns that the injury might be worse than expected. NFL insider Albert Breer reported last week that it was a “very significant injury” and a Grade 3 MCL sprain, which “essentially means his MCL is torn.”
Vrabel was asked for an update on Campbell’s recovery when appearing on The Greg Hill Show on Monday morning.
“I would hope not,” Vrabel responded when asked if the injury was season-ending. “So far, so good [on recovery]. I haven’t seen him yet today.”
It seems that Vrabel and the Patriots are content to allow the recovery process to unfold without putting pressure on Campbell, who is undoubtedly doing everything he can to return to the field.
The team will continue to lean on backup left tackle Vederian Lowe in their most crucial stretch of the season.
