Defending AFC champions the Kansas City Chiefs will be fighting to keep their season alive when they host the Los Angeles Chargers in the AFC West on Sunday.
Andy Reid’s side have fallen to 6-7 after suffering four defeats in their last five games – and the only win in that time was in overtime after they fought back from an 11-point deficit to beat the Indianapolis Colts.
The Chargers are in better shape at 9-4 after five wins in their last six, but it could be a dour struggle in cold conditions and going under the total points line may be the best bet on the game.
Both teams have struggled to protect their quarterbacks this season and they remain beset by offensive-line injuries. The Los Angeles offence couldn’t get much done against the Eagles last week and quarterback Justin Herbert continues to be affected by an injured hand.
The Chiefs offence looks nothing like the force of old. Patrick Mahomes completed just 14 of his 33 pass attempts against the Texans last week and threw three interceptions.
The Chargers defence should be capable of keeping them relatively quiet, too.
