Ross County is under a level two snow emergency as of 5:05 p.m. Dec. 13, according to the sheriff’s office.
A level two snow emergency means roadways are hazardous with snow, icy conditions and hazardous. Drive with extreme caution.
The National Weather Service has put out the following forecast:
Afternoon: Snow. High near 34. Northwest wind around 6 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches is possible.
Tonight: Snow, mainly before 11 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 6. Wind chill values as low as -3. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -7. West wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 4. West wind around 6 mph, becoming calm in the evening.
