World No1 and defending champion Luke Littler was forced to dip and dive during a post-match interview from his first round win.
The wasp was in a mischievous mood that night as it buzzed around the head of the 18-year-old live on air as he got set to speak to presenter Emma Paton.
A sighting came again during the afternoon session at Alexandra Palace – only this time a little too close to the action.
During the first round clash between Richard Veenstra and Nitin Kumar, the wasp was STRUCK mid-flight with Sky Cameras catching the moment.

The infamous Ally Pally wasp has been causing it on the big stage for a number of years now.
Back in the 2024 edition of the tournament, Littler, just 16 at the time had another interaction following a win over Brendan Dolan.
It was a 5-1 win that night on New Year’s Day – which nearly started with a STING.
He said at the time: “I’m not sure what happened there.
“I felt a little zap, I saw it fluttering around near the end.
“It didn’t bother me. I felt it a little bit. I’m not sure if I was stung. But I had to focus and get over the line.”
