BBC Strictly spoiler leaks identity of finalists but fans fume ‘public got it wrong’

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left incensed after the spoiler was revealed online.

During this week’s semi-final, the remaining contestants battled it out in a bid to reach next week’s grand finale. Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, George Clarke and Alexis Warr, Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon, and Karen Carney and Carlos Gu each performed two routines on the dance floor.

The pairs delivered a choreographed number first, before returning for their couples’ choice performance. When the live broadcast concluded, Karen and Carlos sat atop the leaderboard with marks of 39 for their opening routine and 39 for their second – a combined total of 78.

Amber and Nikita finished in second with 37 and 40, totalling 77. George and Alexis accumulated 35 and 37, giving them 72 points and third position. However, EastEnders actress Balvinder and Julian received 35 and 35, achieving an overall score of 70, landing them in the bottom two once more.

Every week, the Strictly results programme, broadcast on Sunday evening, is filmed immediately following the live performance. Earlier today, someone in the audience disclosed which contestant departed the competition, though the Mirror has opted not to reveal this information, reports the Mirror.

The revelation didn’t sit well with supporters, who expressed anger that the performer wouldn’t be competing in next week’s final. One viewer remarked: “As predicted.

“I’m absolutely devastated,” another commented. A third added furiously: “The public have got it wrong repeatedly this year…” Another frustrated viewer remarked: “Absolutely the wrong decision.” “Oh my God,” another exclaimed. A sixth viewer added: “It sets up what could be the closest final in years!”.

Kicking off proceedings, Balvinder performed a salsa with Julian, reflecting that she had travelled “a real long way”, despite finding herself in the dance-off five times throughout the competition. The EastEnders actress and her partner earned 35 points for their opening routine.

West End performer and Love Island favourite Amber, alongside Nikita, executed a Tango to Higher by Michael Bublé, securing an impressive 37 from the judging panel. Emotion ran high following Karen’s Waltz with Carlos to One Moment In Time by Whitney Houston.

Karen confessed she “crumbled” during the dance whilst looking at Carlos. However, TikTok and YouTube sensation George Clarke stunned both viewers and fellow competitors with his provocative Samba, which included whipping off his jacket to expose his sculpted physique, leaving Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke admitting they were transfixed by George’s posterior.

The evening was also tinged with sentiment as Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman edged closer to their departure. The presenting duo revealed in October that this series would mark their final stint hosting the programme.

Sources suggest that Tess is reportedly “worried” about what lies ahead, having failed to secure any additional work. An insider told Express.co.uk: “She’s hoping to focus on her brands, but brands need the TV shows to stay interested. Claudia will be absolutely fine as she’s the flavour of the month, but Tess is worried.”

The source continued by saying that Tess is ready to take more of a step back to dedicate additional time to her family, whilst Vernon expands his professional commitments.

Strictly Come Dancing continues every weekend on BBC One.
