Cincinnati Bengals running back Samaje Perine injured his ankle during the fourth quarter of the team’s NFL Week 15 game against the Baltimore Ravens at Paycor Stadium.

“Looks like Perine is clutching at that knee,” CBS’ Spero Dedes said.

The Bengals announced Perine’s return as questionable, but Perine did return later in the quarter.

Perine suffered a right ankle injury during the second quarter of the Bengals’ 47-42 loss to Chicago.

Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson was fined $6,111 for the hip-drop tackle that injured Perine, the NFL announced Nov. 8.

“That’s the type of tackle that you hope is getting legislated out of the game,” Bengals offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher said.

Perine stayed down at the end of a kick return, but jogged off the field under his own power. His leg appeared to get caught underneath him on the tackle.

The Bengals ruled Perine out early in the second half, and head coach Zac Taylor said after the game that Perine would be “week-to-week.”

In March, the Bengals signed Perine, who played for the Bengals for parts of four seasons from 2019 to 2022. Perine played the 2024 season for the Kansas City Chiefs.
