Did you spot Harrison Ford in Knoxville? Here’s why he’s visiting

Han Solo. Indiana Jones. Dr. Richard Kimble. However you know him, the man behind the famous movie characters was in Knoxville – again!

Harrison Ford was spotted hanging out at the Tennessee Theatre Dec. 10. It’s not the first time he’s visited Knoxville. The legendary actor has become somewhat of a regular visitor after his wife Calista Flockhart’s parents retired to East Tennessee.

Ford was in town this time attending the ninth annual Allman Betts Family Revival at the Tennessee Theatre. The music event is hosted by Devon Allman and Duane Betts – the sons of Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers Band – and features a revolving cast of artists honoring the Allman Brothers Band catalog.

Ford took a photo with Duane and Devon that was shared on their social media accounts.

“High times in Knoxville last night!!! The incomparable Harrison Ford dropped by,” Duane wrote on Facebook.

Ford was also spotted at Oliver Royale on Market Square.

Among earlier sightings, Ford was spotted in Knoxville in 2023. A driver for the free Knoxville Information Shuttle Service, which ended services in 2024, saw Ford and snapped a selfie with the actor, although he did not take a ride on the downtown shuttle, according to co-owner Gina Kelly.

Ford also was in Knoxville back in 2018 and stopped for breakfast at Pete’s Coffee Shop. He was there for around 45 minutes.

“I saw him come and pay, and he looked familiar, and that’s when I just went up and started talking to him … joking that he wasn’t in the new ‘Star Wars’ movie,” Pete’s then-co-owner Joey Natour told Knox News at the time.

Ford and Flockhart have visited the area multiple times over the years.
