Cris Carter shines light on situation surrounding WR Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson has been visibly frustrated at times on the sideline and on the field. Off the field, he continues to be the leader of this team that he has been since being drafted by them in 2020. Despite all of the right things being done and said by Jefferson, rumors continue to swirl that perhaps he is going to be playing somewhere if things don’t improve.

Cardplayer’s Kyle Odegard spoke to Vikings Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter recently. One of the topics they discussed was Jefferson, and he asked Carter if he had spoken to the current star receiver for the Vikings. He shared that he had given a rather positive message from their discussion.

Carter shared, “I talked to him a couple weeks ago against Chicago, down on the field. He’s hanging in there. He’s a good leader. He’s saying all the right things. Thank God he’s not in a contract year, trying to prove himself. He’s a proven commodity. So he’s doing all the right stuff, saying all the right stuff, trying to help the young player grow.”

Jefferson is a pros pro, he is perfect for the Vikings and this organization, most people would agree. This team is having some growing pains as they try to emerge as a bona fide contender with McCarthy at the helm and with a team with aging veterans at key positions.

No matter what happens, Justin Jefferson will be this team’s Superman for the foreseeable future.
