Former Cleveland Browns NFL Champion dies at 91

BEREA, Ohio (WKBN) – The Cleveland Browns are mourning the loss of franchise legend and former defensive end Paul Wiggin, who has died at the age of 91.
Wiggin spent his entire playing career with Cleveland from 1956-67.

The two-time Pro Bowler never missed a game for the Browns, playing in 146 consecutive contests.
He was originally selected by the Browns in the sixth round of the 1956 NFL Draft.
Wiggin was a key member of the Browns’ defensive line that won the 1964 NFL Championship, recovering a fumble in the championship game.
He finished his playing career with 60.5 sacks, 19 fumble recoveries, two touchdowns, and three interceptions in 146 games.
He was inducted into the Cleveland Browns Legends program in 2008.
Following his playing career, Wiggin entered the coaching ranks, spending time in various positions with the San Francisco 49ers (defensive line coach 1968-73), Kansas City Chiefs (head coach from 1975-77), New Orleans Saints (1978-79), Stanford University (head coach from 1980-83), Minnesota Vikings (defensive line coach 1985-91).

Wiggin was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
