Blake Shelton has been on tour for several of the performances on Season 1 of his show The Road, so special guests have been brought in to help Keith Urban evaluate the artists. On the Sunday, December 14, episode, Brothers Osborne will be on-hand in Nashville, Tennessee, to watch the Top 4’s sets.
Brothers Osborne is a country duo made up of siblings John Osborne and TJ Osborne. When TJ came out as gay, he became the first openly gay artist signed to a major country music label.

When did TJ Osborne come out?
T.J. Osborne came out in February 2021. He shared the truth about his sexuality in an interview with Time magazine. At the time of the interview, T.J. was 36 years old.
“I’m very comfortable being gay,” T.J. said at the time, noting that he’s been out to his family and friends for years. “I find myself being guarded for not wanting to talk about something that I personally don’t have a problem with. That feels so strange.”
T.J. recalled being in relationships while publicly closeted. “Saying, ‘Hey, don’t hold my hand. Someone I know is in here, so can you wait in the car?’ Rightfully, they would feel unwanted by me,” he admitted.
Of his decision to finally share his truth, T.J. explained, “I just want to move on.” However, he clarified, “When I say I want to put it behind me, I want to put the coming out behind me. Because ultimately it’s a very small detail about me.”
Who is TJ Osborne’s boyfriend?
TJ and Abi, whose full name is Abiezer, confirmed their relationship by making their first public appearance together at the CMA Awards in November 2021. After Brothers Osborne won the award for Vocal Duo of the Year, TJ kissed Abi before taking the stage to accept the honor.
“It’s been a crazy roller coaster of a year for us in so many ways, especially for me emotionally,” TJ said in his acceptance speech. “And to have you all support me, it really does feel like love wins tonight. Thank you.”
Abi was born in Mexico. He is currently a digital marketing student at Middle Tennessee State University. He began studying there in January 2024 and is expected to graduate in May 2026. Abi previously received his associate’s degree in business/managerial economics from Malcolm X College in Chicago in 2023.
Per his LinkedIn, he is an aspiring music marketing professional and works as a proofreader and translator. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Are TJ Osborne and Abi Ventura still together?
TJ and Abi have not attended a red carpet event together since November 2024. However, TJ still follows Abi on Instagram, so it appears they are still together.
The singer does not post much about his personal life on social media. He previously posted a birthday message to Abi in 2022, but has since deleted it.
“Abi, you coming into this world has completely changed mine forever,” Osborne wrote at the time, per Out.com. “I never knew what people meant when they said they feel seen and omg wow now do I get what [it] feels like to truly be seen because of you. You see me. I see you. I’ve never felt love like this. I’ve never felt happiness like this. Thank you for loving me for who I am. Happy Birthday, mi [corazon].”
