It has been a tumultuous rookie season for J.J. McCarthy but the 22-year-old quarterback finally appears to be playing more confidently and decisely, leading the Vikings to a second-consecutive win tonight in Dallas.

He completed 15-of-24 passes for 250 yards with two touchdown passes, one interception and a rushing score. While there have been clear signs of progress over the last two weeks, McCarthy still has a tendency to miss easier throws but his arm strength and mobility are beginning to shine through.

Minnesota’s season has been defined by the play of its rookie quarterback and that will continue down the stretch.
