Tributes are being paid following the unexpected death of Home and Away star Rachael Carpani who was just 45 years old.
Many will know Rachael for her performances on Aussie soap Home and Away as well as her portrayal of Jodi Fountain in TV show McLeod’s Daughters.
A statement from the Carpani family confirmed that she passed away last week.

The statement, from her parents, read: ‘It is with great sadness that Tony and Gael Carpani announce that their beautiful daughter, beloved Australian actress Rachael Carpani, unexpectedly but peacefully passed away after a long battle with chronic illness.’
The family have also requested privacy during this difficult time and have confirmed that the funeral proceedings for the late actress will be a ‘private event.’
The Sydney-born actress was most famous for her role on Australian TV drama McLeod’s Daughters, and also had appearances in Hating Alison Ashley and All Saints.

In 2024, she joined the cast of Home and Away in the recurring role of Claudia Salini, who was attached to the Morgan family within the show.
Claudia becomes stuck in Summer Bay after she gets into a car accident, and proceeds to sue mechanic Justin Morgan who had just serviced the car.
Rachael also appeared on an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles.

Tributes are being shared online following news of Rachael’s death, with one person confirming: ‘She was my favourite in McLeod’s Daughters.’
Another lamented: ‘This is incredibly sad. I loved her in McLeod’s Daughters. May she rest in peace.’
A third wrote: ‘Just heard the news. Like many Aussies I loved McLeod’s Daughters growing up. I still re-watch it every year. Very sad to hear Rachael Carpani has passed away.
‘She’s only 9 years older than me. I hope she’s pain free & at peace. Sending condolences to her family & friends.’
