Stormy weather to continue in Kings County until this evening

“Kings County is going to take the worst of this over the next 12 hours,” CBC meteorologist Tina Simpkin said, adding that up to another 15 centimetres of snow is possible in that area.

“The further east you are across the Island the worse the weather is going to be.”

Winds are expected to pick up out of the northwest, with gusts up to 70 kilometres per hour — but in Kings County, those gusts could be near 90 kilometers per hour throughout the morning and into the afternoon, Simpkin said.

Snow is expected to taper off in Prince and Queens counties, although Simpkin said there is a possibility of a couple more centimeters of snow.

More to come.
