Sektioui: “Syria is a Strong, Disciplined Team; Key to Match Was Ball Possession”

Tarik Sektioui, coach of the Moroccan national reserve team, affirmed that the quarter-final match against Syria in the Arab Cup was not easy, highlighting the significant tactical discipline displayed by the Syrian team throughout the group stage.

“It was a difficult match. The Syrian team is tactically disciplined and plays with spirit, which was evident in their first three matches. Today, we faced a strong opponent,” Sektioui stated in remarks after the game.

The reserve team coach added, “We knew that the key to the match lay in maintaining possession of the ball, being patient without rushing, and staying confident. In the second half, the team got closer to scoring, and thankfully, we achieved a valuable victory.”

Sektioui noted that the squad is gradually developing within the competition, considering it a positive aspect. “The team is evolving amidst the competition, and this is important. The players aspire to be better from one match to the next,” he said.

Sektioui concluded his remarks by thanking the players: “I thank the players for their efforts, because they are physically exhausted, but they are defending the flag and the colors of Moroccan football. Thank you to them.”
