Coronation Street viewers are convinced they’ve figured out Theo Silverton’s downfall after Monday aired a special episode centred on Todd Grimshaw’s harrowing abuse.
Theo arrived on the cobbles earlier this year as Todd’s new romantic partner. Nevertheless, Theo’s sinister nature quickly became apparent as he started controlling Todd, trying to dominate every element of his existence and cut him off from his nearest and dearest.
In recent episodes, the mistreatment has intensified to include physical attacks in devastating scenes, with Todd, who has been petrified about his partner’s next move, setting up concealed surveillance equipment in their flat.
On Monday evening, the entire programme was presented from the perspective of various recording devices including Todd’s secret camera, CCTV footage, dashcam recordings, video doorbell captures and police body-worn cameras as a sequence of flashbacks revealed the reality of what happens in private.

Following numerous disturbing scenes throughout the week showing Theo controlling and mistreating Todd, the latter finally reached his breaking point and confronted his despicable partner after discovering he had been covertly monitoring his movements.
During the tense confrontation, Theo tried to assault Todd as he declared his intention to end the relationship and demanded Theo cease his behaviour permanently, ordering him to vacate the flat immediately.
Theo branded Todd “vile” before pushing him, prompting Todd to retaliate in self-defence by shoving Theo aside, causing him to crash into a coffee table where he remained motionless.
Following the disturbance outdoors, worried Weatherfield locals contacted the authorities, resulting in Todd’s arrest whilst Theo was rushed to hospital.
Todd declined to reveal the true circumstances, maintaining it was merely an accident, whilst Theo was treated as the casualty in a disturbing reversal, with officers providing him with domestic violence information leaflets.

Both Todd and Theo eventually returned home, where Theo once more manipulated Todd. The situation became increasingly menacing when Theo discovered the surveillance equipment Todd had set up.
He demanded: “Have you been filming us, have you been filming me, Todd? Is that a camera? Have you been filming us, have you?” whilst thrusting the device towards Todd’s face as the episode concluded.
Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers are now wondering whether the footage already captured can be used against Theo resulting in his arrest.
One person said: “Surely the Police will be able to watch previous footage?? #Corrie”, a different account wrote: “Good on Todd’s cams for evidence!” while another added: “I’m hoping Todd has set them cameras up and going to collect evidence and get Theo locked up. But it’s #Corrie so it’s never that simple is it.”
