Jackknifed semi blocks all lanes of northbound I-5 near Olympia Monday morning

Three semi-trucks and another vehicle were involved in a collision on Monday morning that blocked all northbound lanes of I-5 near state Route 101 outside Olympia.
According to a social media post from Washington State Trooper Kameron Watts, the incident happened at around 5 a.m. on Dec. 15 on northbound I-5 at state Route 101. When troopers arrived they found three semi-trucks and a car had been involved in a barrier collision.
All northbound lanes were fully blocked from the collision, along with the left lane on the southbound side due to a displaced barrier.
Watts said reported injuries from the wreck were minor. He said one of the semis involved was jackknifed and it was unknown how long it would take to clear the collision. According to WSDOT’s Travel Center Map, only the left lane was blocked by 9 a.m. Monday.
Folks traveling through the area are asked to use alternate routes, such as using the Trosper Road exit to bypass the collision and re-enter the highway from Capitol Boulevard or 14th Avenue. Watts did not immediately have other details about the wreck to share with The Olympian.
