Man Utd star Fernandes voted Player of the Matchweek

Portuguese midfielder tops fan poll for best Premier League performance in 15th round of matches

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has been voted Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 15.

He becomes just the second player, after Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo, to be voted Player of the Matchweek twice this season, having also claimed the honour in Matchweek 13.

Captain Fernandes delivered a standout performance in Man Utd’s commanding 4-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring twice and supplying an assist as his side moved up to sixth place, just a point outside the top four.

The midfielder opened the scoring in the first half with a close-range finish before floating an expertly placed ball over the Wolves backline for Mason Mount to net Man Utd’s third goal.

Fernandes later sealed the victory from the penalty spot, taking his combined tally of Premier League goals and assists this season to 10.
