A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo have publicly addressed one of the stranger journalism questions in recent memory, which centered around their relationship.
Wilson, a four-time WNBA MVP and three-time champion, and Adebayo, a three-time NBA All-Star, had been rumored to be dating for quite a while, and they confirmed those rumors earlier this year. It was their (now public) relationship that was the subject of an odd question from former ESPN reporter Rachel Nichols.

While interviewing reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Nichols asked him about an internet meme circulating that Oklahoma City Thunder general manager Sam Presti would “be at the sonogram” scouting any potential children Wilson and Adebayo would have together.
Gilgeous-Alexander responded diplomatically.
“Sam takes his job very serious, and whatever it takes to be great, he will do,” he said.
However, Wilson and Adebayo were clearly not pleased, and they took to social media to call out the question.

“Yall don’t think this a lil strange orrrr weird..??? But I guess it’s a slow day in the office,” Wilson said.
“This why privacy matters,” Adebayo wrote.
It’s certainly a strange (and awkward) line of inquiry, and fans joined Wilson and Adebayo in questioning why Nichols posed that question to Gilgeous-Alexander.
