The incident has been rated “severe” by National Highways.

The agency said: “2 (of 4) lanes closed on the M25 anti-clockwise between J28 (Brentwood) and J27 (M11/Epping) due to a collision involving multiple vehicles.

“EssexPoliceUK on scene. Delays in excess of 30 minutes above normal journey times.”
