Inside Out, Outside In: Amateur Ceramics Workshop

On the occasion of the exhibition Manu-Facture: The Ceramics of Lucio Fontana, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection presents a workshop organized and led by artist Tommaso Tuchet.
The workshop draws inspiration from Lucio Fontana’s interest in Spazialismo, which he investigated in conceptual as well as material terms. The museum’s sculpture garden will become an open working space in which architectural elements serve as a matrix for site-specific sculptures. Shaped, fired, and glazed, the objects will be worked on both internally and externally, encouraging participants to reflect on what is revealed and what is concealed, and on the dialogue between public gesture and inner, intimate listening.
The event is open to all—to those discovering ceramics for the first time as well as experienced ceramicists.
