The M60 and M61 are seeing delays with lanes closed after two separate crashes.
Traffic delays are growing clockwise on the M60 between J21 A663 Broadway J21 (Hollinwood) and J22 A62 Manchester Road (Failsworth).
On the M61, all lanes are now closed northbound from J5 for Westhoughton to J6 for Horwich after a crash. It is understood at least three vehicles were involved. Four miles of congestion is causing 45 minute delays.
National Highways, managing the motorway closure this evening, said: “The M61 in Greater Manchester is closed northbound between J5 Hunger Hill Interchange (Westhoughton, Hindley, Deane A58) and J6 Horwich Interchange (Bolton (W), Horwich (A673) due to a collision.
“Greater Manchester Police, Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service and National Highways in attendance.”
