Jacksonville State running back Cam Cook earns AP All-America honors

In just three seasons at the FBS level, Jacksonville State had its second player earn All-America honors.
Gamecocks star running back Cam Cook was announced as a third-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday, being one of six running backs honored altogether.
He becomes the second Jax State player to earn AP All-America honors at the FBS level. Former offensive guard Clay Webb was a second-team honoree in 2023 and is now with the Tennessee Titans.
Cook was named the Conference USA MVP and Newcomer of the Year this season. He currently leads all FBS players in rushing yards (1,659), ranks second in rushing yards per game (127.6) and is tied for fourth nationally in rushing touchdowns (16).
He ran for a career-high 218 yards against Sam Houston and has surpassed 100 yards of total offense in all 13 of Jax State’s games this season.
A native of Round Rock, Texas, the junior also spent two seasons at TCU where he led the Horned Frogs in rushing in 2024.
Jax State (8-5) will face Troy on Tuesday in the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery and the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
