Key Stories to Watch
- The Avs face Seattle for the first time, and will face last year’s trade deadline acquisition Ryan Lindgren in the process. Colorado reportedly tried to keep Lindgren but couldn’t reach a new deal. He signed a four-year contract with the Kraken on July 1.
- Mackenzie Blackwood gets the nod in goal. Blackwood is 9-1-1 with a .920 save percentage. He’s expected to play opposite Kraken netminder Philipp Grubauer, who has started 10 of 30 Seattle games this season.
- Given how lines looked on Monday, the Avs are expected to put Martin Necas back on the top line after swapping spots with Gavin Brindley for a game.
- Seattle is 2-7-1 in its last 10 games and has the fewest goals in the NHL (74).
