Trump Official Signaled Concern In Lead-Up To Vanity Fair Photoshoot

A Trump administration official made a dire prediction during a recent photoshoot for Vanity Fair, the magazine behind Tuesday’s bombshell coverage of the president’s inner circle.

The group of seven officials — selected by White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, whose shock comments on Trump 2.0 left her and the White House doing damage control on Tuesday — gathered for photos around a table in the Roosevelt Room.

“We’re all going to get fired for this,” the unnamed official said.

“Except for me,” Vice President JD Vance replied. “I have 100 percent job security.”

One snap from the shoot eventually became the cover photo for one of the Vanity Fair articles. The image shows Wiles and Vance seated at the table, where they are joined by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senior White House aide Stephen Miller and White House deputy chief of staffs Dan Scavino and James Blair.

In Vanity Fair’s behind-the-scenes look at the photoshoot, officials were described as filing into the Roosevelt Room “a bit like nervous schoolchildren.” Later, Miller reportedly called the idea of sitting at the end of the table “not natural” (he’s shown seated on the arm of a swivel chair next to the table).

In line with Trump’s attacks on the press, Vance also reportedly made digs at the magazine as Anderson took photos of the group.

“Is this the part where you say we’re all evil?” Vance asked.
