Lotto Max $80-million jackpot remains, four Canadians win Maxmillions

The most recent Lotto Max draw was anything but ordinary, as an $80-million jackpot had all eyes on the massive prize.

The Lotto Max draw took place on Friday, Dec. 12, and the winning numbers were 04, 16, 25, 28, 36, 38, and 41, with bonus 09. Although no one matched the seven numbers to win the $80-million prize, four Canadians came quite close after they matched six of the seven numbers and the bonus, winning the second prize. Split between them, they’ll each take home $98,532.20.

According to PlayNow, two tickets were sold in Ontario, while two tickets were sold in B.C. in Richmond and Langley. The third prize will be split between 80 winners, who’ll each receive $4,926.60.

There may not have been any winners for the life-changing jackpot, but four Canadians will soon be taking home a Maxmillions prize, making each of them $1 million richer. Two of the tickets were sold in Ontario, while the other two were sold in Quebec.

No one in B.C. won the $500,000 Lotto Max Extra Prize, and similarly, no one in Ontario scored the $1-million Encore top prize.

The last time someone won the jackpot was on Oct. 28, when a lottery player from Ontario won the $40-million jackpot. The ticket was sold in Grey County.

The next draw is on Tuesday, Dec. 16. In addition to the $80-million jackpot, there are now 21 Maxmillions prizes up for grabs.
